equip to Overcome, demonstrate Kindness, give Opportunity

OKO Lifestyle was created by sisters Abbie Boatwright and Katie Frankum. They opened the doors to their two flagship stores, OKO Women and OKO Kids in 2016. In the heart of 30A's hottest hangout, The Hub, nestled right next door to each other. The idea was born when Katie graduated from college. Abbie was busy being a full-time mom to two growing toddlers, but both of them dreamed of opening a business together that would have a purpose bigger than just the two of them.

Abbie and Katie’s father, Scott Steelman, founded a non-profit called Global Effect in 2009, which works in impoverished communities to create sustainable and long-lasting change to break the cycle of poverty. Abbie and Katie were exposed to the desperate need for honest and fair employment in these areas and wanted their business to somehow meet this need. Through a lot of brainstorming, prayer, and planning, the idea of OKO began. Abbie and Katie decided to design a clothing line that would be hand cut and sewn by men and women in Los Suarez, Dominican Republic, and then sold in a store they would open in Florida. Through this, they have been able to give members of Los Suarez, who were previously unable to provide for themselves or their families, an opportunity to overcome their circumstances.

Since the first two stores opening in 2016, they've opened the doors to another location in Rosemary Beach and have combined and expanded their flagship stores into a new spot at the Hub.

When visiting one of the OKO stores, you will find both the in-house line and other complimenting brands that have been carefully selected by Abbie and Katie to curate a specific and intentional shopping experience.

Come say hello, we'd love to meet you!
